The Holy Cross girls finished their regular season with a 13th straight win using solid defense to beat host Conner, 43-31.
Julia Hunt scored 18 points to lead the Indians and Miyah Wimzie scored 14. The Indians are one of the hottest teams in the state with the winning streak and have won 18 of 19. The lone loss was to No. 3 George Rogers Clark on Jan. 13 by two points.
Holy Cross limited Conner to just 11 points in the second half. Aubree Depenbrock and Izelee Kerns scored eight each to lead the Cougars. Anna Hamilton was limited due to an injury.
Holy Cross (25-5) plays in the 35th District Tournament next, taking on Holmes at Holmes on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Conner (13-15) hosts Ryle in the 33rd District semifinals on Tuesday at 7:45 p.m.
Campbell County 54, Simon Kenton 48
The Camels pulled off another impressive victory to conclude their regular season.
Over the past month, Campbell County has knocked off Notre Dame, Ryle and Simon Kenton.
“Believe it or not, we started out in a hole,” Campbell County head coach Davey Johnson said. “We made a little run and cut it to nine at halftime. We just played harder. We got outworked in the first 16 minutes. Then we matched their energy and their intensity the rest of the way. It’s confidence.”
Madeline Barbian led the way for the Camels scoring a career-high 19 points knocking down four 3-pointers. Izzy Jayasuria followed with 14.
“It really doesn’t matter who scores. We just have to play as a team to win,” Jayasuria said. “The starters weren’t really playing well in the first quarter. The bench really picked us up.”
Brynli Pernell scored 21 points to lead Simon Kenton. Haylie Webb and Rylie Flynn followed with 11 and nine points, respectively.
Campbell County (19-10) plays in the 37th District championship game on Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. at Campbell County Middle School, taking on the Scott-Bishop Brossart semifinal winner.
Simon Kenton (18-10) hosts Newport Central Catholic on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Cooper 69, DuPont Manual 33
The Jaguars blitzed the visitors from the 7th Region recording 10 steals off 17 turnovers and blocking six shots.
Logan Palmer led Cooper with 23 points to go with six rebounds and two steals and Liz Freihofer scored 19 points to go with three assists. Bella Deere added nine points.
Cooper (23-4) travels to Notre Dame on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
Newport Central Catholic 55, Bracken County 43
The Thoroughbreds won the non-region game behind 20 points from Caroline Eaglin.
Emma Cleves followed with 12 points with Brooklyn Cole and Jaylee Brannen scoring nine and eight points, respectively.
NewCath (19-10) travels to Simon Kenton on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. game.

EJ Walker tallied 18 points and 16 rebounds, Anthony Blaackar adding 14 points while Tyler Copeland chipped in 11.
Lloyd (21-8) closes out the regular season on Thursday at Conner at 7 p.m.
Bishop Brossart (3-24) has lost 22 in a row, looking to break the streak on Friday against Newport Central Catholic before they begin the postseason. Friday’s tip is 7:30 p.m. at NewCath.
Ryle 100, Western Hills 60
The Raiders hung their highest point total in nearly 10 years with the road victory.
Ryle scored 101 in a 101-36 victory over Heritage Academy on Feb. 24, 2014. On Wednesday, five hit double figures as Evan Smith led the way with 19 points. Landon Lorms scored 17 points, Grady Reynolds with 14, Anthony Coppola adding 12 and Holden Smith chipping in 10.
The game closed out Ryle’s regular season at 18-10, flipping their record from 10-18 last season. Now they shift their attention to the postseason, facing Boone County on Feb. 28 at Conner.
