Newport’s boys, Cooper’s girls, Holy Cross’ girls and Ryle’s girls all moved up in the latest statewide media basketball poll.
The poll is conducted by 16 media members from across the state that represent each region, casting their vote for not only the top 15 teams in the state, but the top five teams in their respective region. Cooper’s boys and Simon Kenton’s girls are also creeping up in the others receiving votes category and into the top 20. Covington Catholic stayed put at No. 6 while Notre Dame dropped a spot and into a tie for 13th.
The poll will run throughout the regular season and into the first week of the postseason when district tournaments begin.
Here’s the latest polls below with the top five teams in each region included.
