The Scott boys basketball team made the most of the final tune up for Campbell County with a 74-63 road win over Boone County.

Scott had five players score in double figures. Jon Evans and Dylan Giffen led the way scoring 16 and 14, respectively with AJ Lowe and Xarek Sarakatsannis scoring 12 each. Carter Eten scored 10 and Connor Griffin scored eight.

Mason Hall led Boone County with 19 points. Eli Bodkin followed with 16 points and Thomas Williams scored 14.

Scott (11-9) has won three in a row. The Eagles face the Camels at 5:30 p.m. in Claryville on Friday.

Boone County (13-5) hosts Mason County on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Boys Basketball

Conner 56, Simon Kenton 52

The Cougars came close three times during the seven-game losing streak and finally broke through with a win over the visiting Pioneers.

Tyler Warner led Conner with 15 points. Brady Bushman and Landon Warner followed scoring 13 and 12 points, respectively, and Finn Louden scored nine.

Simon Kenton also put three players in double figures. Travis Krohman led the way with 13 with Jordan Bach and Eddie Marx scoring 12 and 11, respectively. Bode Stone added eight.

Conner (4-14) travels to Beechwood on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Simon Kenton (7-12) hosts Gallatin County on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Highlands 95, Bishop Brossart 65

The Bluebirds handled the Mustangs in Fort Thomas.

Highlands made 16 three-pointers in the victory. Nathan Vinson led Highlands with 22 points and Brayden Moeves made four 3-pointers on his way to 18 points and Lincoln Hicks made three triples for nine points.

Alex Combs led Brossart scoring 22 points and Ben Doyle scored 10.

Highlands (11-9) plays Covington Catholic on Friday at Truist Arena in Highland Heights at 7:30 p.m.

Bishop Brossart (3-15) hosts Augusta on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Holy Cross 59, Lewis County 48

The Indians took care of the visitors from the 16th Region for a second straight win.

Nate Rominger led Holy Cross with 18 points and William McElheney scored 12.

Holy Cross (13-6) travels to Mason County on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. battle.

Ryle 61, Beechwood 56

The Raiders earned their sixth straight victory on the road in Fort Mitchell.

Landon Lorms led the way with 25 points, Anthony Coppola adding 10 while Logan Verax and AJ Davis chipped in nine points apiece. Ryle hit 51% from the field in the win.

The Raiders (12-6) head to Knightstown, Indiana on Saturday to play a game where the movie “Hoosiers” was filmed, facing Bell County at 2 p.m.

Beechwood (8-10) dropped their fourth straight contest. They play host Conner on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Bellevue 83, Dayton 61

Jase Iles led three Tigers in double figures as they picked up a 36th District victory.

Iles dropped 23 points, Noah Frommeyer with 18 and Zach Mertens chipping in 15. Bellevue knocked down 10-of-21 three-point attempts.

Bellevue (12-7) returns to action on Thursday at Heritage Academy at 7:30 p.m.

Dayton (5-14) dropped their third straight contest. They hit the floor again on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Heritage Academy 81, Calvary Christian 61

The Eagles hit nearly 60% of shots from the field in the victory over the Cougars.

Trent Stone led five Heritage players in double figures with 19 points. Others were Scott McGlynn with 16 points, Alexander Palmer with 15, Cade Holtman 13 and Elisha Schulz chipping in 11.

Calvary Christin was paced by Peyton Morris with 20 points. Race Zachary added 15.

The Eagles (7-9) host Bellevue on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The Cougars (6-15) play at Villa Madonna on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

St. Henry 60, Newport Central Catholic 57

It was a tight one throughout with St. Henry getting the edge at the end.

NewCath led by five after one and one at halftime, only to see the Crusaders rally and take a one-point lead into the fourth. They hung on from there, Caden Kuntstek hitting two free throws with eight seconds left and St. Henry getting a defensive stop from there to seal the deal.

Andrew Reis led the way with 20 points, Carson Shea adding 12 points.

St. Henry (7-11) is off until Jan. 31 when they play at Holmes.

NewCath (6-14) plays at Dixie Heights on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The Cougars won their fourth in a row and eighth in the last nine games with an impressive defensive performance, holding the Mustangs to nine field goals and 25% shooting from the field.

Anna Hamilton led Conner with 21 points with Aubree Depenbrock and Izelee Kerns scoring 14 and 10, respectively.

Bishop Brossart did not see anyone reach double figures in this game. Rachel Shewmaker led the Mustangs with eight points.

Conner (10-10) plays at St. Henry on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Brossart (12-5) travels to Holmes on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Dixie Heights 56, Lloyd Memorial 37

The Colonels moved to 3-0 in 34th District action with the convincing home win.

Bella Crawford led the Colonels in this one scoring 15 points and Catherine Buddenberg scored 13. Avery Moore and Jalynn Brooks scored nine each.

Sierra McCoin led Lloyd with 14 points and Kenya Williams scored eight.

Dixie Heights (11-8) has won six in a row. The Colonels host Ludlow on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Lloyd Memorial (6-11) hosts Beechwood on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Scott 52, Beechwood 18

The Eagles won their second straight behind 10 points and three steals from Noelle Price.

Ten different Scott players scored. Madeline Spencer had eight points and four rebounds with Kaia Peterson and Nakiah Mejia scoring seven each.

Scott (12-6) travels to Campbell County on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Beechwood (5-13) travels to Lloyd Memorial on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Newport Central Catholic 69, Newport 35

Caroline Eaglin led NewCath with 15 points in the 36th District victory. Madison McFarland followed with 11 points as 10 different Thoroughbreds scored in the contest.

Amariana Cook led Newport with 14 points.

NewCath jumped out to a 17-0 end of first quarter lead to coast in this one.

The Thoroughbreds (13-6) host Bishop Brossart on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Newport (3-14) plays at Highlands on Thursay at 7:30 p.m.
