The Ninth Region in girls basketball has four of the top 11 teams in the state in the latest Kentucky High School basketball statewide media poll.
Cooper comes in at No. 3, Notre Dame No. 8, Ryle in a tie for No. 9 and Holy Cross sitting at 11th.
On the boys side, Covington Catholic and Newport go back to back at No. 5 and No. 6. The Wildcats jumped up a spot while the Colonels stayed put in the fifth spot.
The poll will run weekly leading into the week of district tournaments on Feb. 26.
