The Camels won their first game with Brent Sowder as head coach playing solid defense.

“(Dixie) is super disciplined and well-coached,” Sowder said. “I thought our defensive intensity was good. That’s what we talked about before the game. They’re going to play super hard. We set a tone in the first quarter when we held them to four points. I was really proud of our guys for being locked in defensively for sure.”

Connor Weinel led Campbell County with a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds with Garyn Jackson scoring 13 points to go with six assists.

“Our offensive ball movement is good,” Jackson said. “That’s how we’re going to score – no one-on-one ball. We push the ball off defensive rebounds. We do a good job filling the lanes and finding the open guy.”
