We enter year three of partnering up with OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in expanding the Team of the Week awards!
Through the first two years, $4,000 in scholarships have been handed out to the Team of the Season and Team of the Year award winners.
In order to get to that point, it starts here with the weekly Team of the Week awards.
In the same fashion as year’s past, the weekly TOW winners will then be eligible for Team of the Season. It’s typically 10 winners from that respective season that runs for fall, winter and spring sports. The Team of the Season vote comes at the end of those respective seasons where the winner is awarded a plaque and a $500 scholarship to a student-athlete of their choice.
Then it comes down to the ultimate prize…Team of the Year where the three Team of the Season winners will then be put up in a vote for another plaque for the trophy case and an additional $500 scholarship to a student-athlete of their choice.

Simon Kenton Girls Soccer
The Lady Pioneers snapped a three-match winless streak with wins over Grant County (8-0) and Woodford County (3-2) last week.
The two wins improved their record to 5-3-2 on the season as they face Notre Dame on Wednesday.
Dixie Heights Boys Soccer
The Colonels defeated St. Henry (1-0) and Simon Kenton (3-2) last week to improve to 8-3 on the season.
They’ve won three straight and will put their winning streak to the test on Tuesday against Highlands.
Boone County Volleyball
Boone County went 2-0 last week with a straight set win over Scott and took down Villa Madonna in five sets, improving to 7-10 on the season.
They’ll try and make it three in a row when they host Beechwood on Tuesday.
Bishop Brossart Volleyball
The Lady ‘Stangs have yet to lose a match, improving to 13-0 after going 4-0 last week.
They defeated Campbell County, Bracken County, Paris and Bracken County again. The last two wins earned them the 10th Region All “A” title. They’ll look to go to 15-0 with two games this week before the All “A” state tournament in Owensboro this weekend.
Conner Football
The Cougars earned their first win of the season in a 41-14 victory over Newport Central Catholic.
It moved Conner to 1-3 as they’ll take on Simon Kenton this week.
Scott Football
The Eagles got their first win of the season in a 40-6 victory over Scott.
They improved to 1-3 with a game at Bourbon County this week.
