Each week, 24 media members across the state will vote on the top 10 KHSAA football teams in the state in their respective class.

The members are represented from each region in the state, including three members from Northern Kentucky.

The polls will run all the way until the end of the regular season and leading into the first week of the playoffs.

The initial rankings have a handful of NKY teams in their respective top 10. Starting in 6A, Ryle is ranked 10th while Simon Kenton is in the other receiving votes category, ranked in a tie for 15th. In 5A, Highlands is fourth, Cooper is sixth with Dixie Heights 13th and Conner 14th. CovCath is in the top three in 4A, ranked third behind Boyle County and Corbin. Lloyd Memorial is sixth in 3A, the lone NKY team in the class. Three-time reigning champ Beechwood holds the top spot in 2A, slightly ahead of Lexington Christian Academy. They are joined by district foe Walton-Verona in a tie for 10th. In 1A, Newport Central Catholic is fourth with Newport 12th, Holy Cross 13th and Bishop Brossart 14th.
