Jason Frakes of the Louisville Courier-Journal has spearheaded a new statewide media rankings to be released every Tuesday from now until the end of the regular season leading into district tournaments.

Sixteen media members cast their ballot, a media member representing each region in the state. The media members are asked to cast their ballot for a statewide top 10 for boys and girls and also list the top five teams for boys and girls from their respective region that they cover.

Listed below is the initial rankings.
