Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams at Thomas More University are competing Saturday in their respective NAIA national tournaments’ quarterfinals.
The #2-seeded men’s team is making its first-ever appearance in the field of eight remaining teams competing for a national title.
The Saints easily defeated SAGU on Friday, 74-44.
Luke Rudy led TMU with 25 points while Ryan Batte had 17 and Reid Jolly added 13.
Thomas More (30-4) faces top-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Kansas City.
On the women’s side, the #1-seeded Saints advanced easily over Bryan, 95-62, Thursday.
Courtney Hurst led TMU with 18 points while Taylor Clos added 17.
The Saints (29-4) face second-seeded Rocky Mountain on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Sioux City, Iowa.
