DAYTON, KY (June 2026) -Commonwealth Comedy Club is excited to welcome comedy legend Scott Thompson for four shows on Thursday and Friday, June 12th and 13th. Shows are at 7:30 PM and 9:45 PM each night, with doors opening at 6:30 PM and 9:15 PM.
Best known as a member of the iconic sketch comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall, Scott Thompson has spent decades building one of the most unique and celebrated careers in comedy and television. After being discovered by Lorne Michaels in the late 1980s, The Kids in the Hall became a groundbreaking sketch series that aired from 1989 to 1995 on CBC in Canada and HBO and CBS in the United States. The group later went on to create the cult classic film Brain Candy, and in 2022 returned with a new season on Amazon Prime.
Beyond Kids in the Hall, Thompson’s career spans television, film, and stand-up comedy. Fans may recognize him from HANNIBAL, The Larry Sanders Show, Shoresy, Reno 911!, The Simpsons, American Gods, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, and Netflix’s FUBAR alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also recently appeared in the CBC hit SORT OF and will next star in the upcoming Jared Keeso project I KILL THE BEAR.
Scott has also become a favorite guest on late night television over the years, appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Late Night with Seth Meyers.
“Getting to host somebody like Scott Thompson at Commonwealth is honestly surreal,” said Commonwealth Comedy Club co-owner Jacoba Wells. “The Kids in the Hall influenced so many comics and comedy fans, and we’re thrilled to have him here in Dayton for four shows.”
