ERLANGER, KY (April 24, 2026) – St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky (SVdP NKY) is bringing safe, comfortable beds to more local families through its Sweet Dreams Bed Program, thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Unnewehr Foundation.
Established in 1995, the Sweet Dreams Bed Program provides new twin-sized beds, bed frames, and mattress protecters at no cost to children 16 and under, seniors over 65, and individuals with disabilities. For many local families facing financial hardship, these essentials are often out of reach. In some cases, this bed is the first they have ever had.
“Rest is a basic need that impacts every part of a person’s well-being,” said Karen Zengel, Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky. “This support from the Unnewehr Foundation allows us to help those who are sleeping on couches, clothing, and floors and provide something than many of us take for granted. We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership.”
Last year, the Sweet Dreams Bed Program supplied 523 beds, worth nearly $100,000, to individuals and families throughout Northern Kentucky. As demand continues to rise, this funding will help SVdP NKY respond quickly to requests and serve more neighbors in need.
