As families reflect on the past year and prepare for the one ahead, Waterford.org, a national early education nonprofit, is encouraging KY parents to plan now for their rising kindergarten and rising first grade students’ summer learning needs. Enrollment is open for Waterford Upstart, a no-cost, at-home program that helps children build essential early learning skills.

Waterford Upstart provides personalized, research-based instruction in reading or in math and science. Children engage in just 20 minutes of learning a day, five days a week, making it a simple and effective routine for busy families. Parents also receive one-on-one coaching and ongoing support to help guide their child’s progress throughout the summer.

“When families plan ahead for summer, it makes a big difference,” said Angie Okuda, Partnerships Director for Waterford.org and Boone County resident. “Registering now sets children up with a fun, steady learning routine they can carry into the next school year.”

Designed for flexibility and engagement, Waterford Upstart helps children build a strong foundation for early learning, ensuring they enter school confident and ready to learn.
