A Minnesota-based manufacturer plans to invest millions of dollars into a new production facility in Erlanger.
Steuart Nutrition is a manufacturer and packaging provider for medium- to large-sized supplement and wellness brands. The company, which is based in Mabel, Minn., produces supplement brands that appear in nationwide retailers like Walmart, Target, Amazon, CVS and Walgreens, among others.
To meet increasing consumer demand, Steuart Nutrition announced it will invest $11.4 million in opening a new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility in Erlanger. The investment will include the installation of advanced production equipment, automated packaging systems and facility upgrades to support long-term operational growth.
Steuart Nutrition’s project will create 93 full-time jobs, including roles such as production staff, line operators, quality control workers, R&D personnel, lab technicians, warehouse staff, various manufacturing support roles, finance leaders, back-office staff and other professional support teams.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear praised Steuart’s decision as an economic victory for the state.
“Not only is this Steuart Nutrition’s first manufacturing operation in the commonwealth, the company is establishing its corporate headquarters here as well,” Beshear said in the release. “This project will add 93 new jobs to the local community, and I look forward to the company’s future success.”
In addition, Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approved a preliminary 10-year incentive deal with Steuart Nutrition under the Kentucky Business Investment program to support investment and job growth.
The company could receive up to $1 million in tax incentives if it invests $11.4 million, creates and maintains 93 full-time Kentucky jobs and pays an average wage of $27/hour, including benefits. In return, it can keep part of the new tax revenue it generates and apply incentives to certain taxes. The company will also have access to state workforce services like free recruitment and discounted training programs.
