RISING SUN, IND. – The holiday season officially arrived at Rising Star Casino Resort this weekend as the property kicked off its 11th annual “Christmas Casino” celebration with a festive tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, November 1.
Guests gathered to enjoy an afternoon filled with holiday cheer, live entertainment, and the much-anticipated lighting of the resort’s 22-foot-tall singing Christmas tree. Vice President and General Manager Jeff Michie welcomed guests with opening remarks celebrating the start of the season before the team presented a lighthearted skit inspired by a classic holiday comedy film.
In the performance, Assistant General Manager Greg Tufts played the role of an overly enthusiastic holiday decorator, greeting guests and sharing that he had strung up 61,600 Italian twinkling lights just for visitors at Rising Star Casino. After a few comedic mishaps trying to get the lights to work, Santa arrived to sprinkle a little Christmas magic, bringing the display to life.
Attendees were treated to complimentary cookies, roasted nuts, cocoa, and coffee, adding a cozy touch to the crisp evening. The highlight of the night came as the countdown ended and the massive Christmas tree came to life in a dazzling display of synchronized lights and music, officially ushering in this year’s “Christmas Casino” season.
The “Christmas Casino” holiday extravaganza runs through January 1, 2026, featuring family-friendly activities and attractions including the Christmas Market Village, Santa meet-and-greets, holiday carriage rides, a petting zoo, festive hotel suites, and much more.
