Jason Ellis, a lifelong Kentuckian and twenty-year resident of Boone County, has officially announced his candidacy for State Representative in Kentucky’s 66th District. From a background in education, writing and rhetoric, clinical research, and civic engagement, Ellis enters the race to represent what he calls the middle majority: Kentuckians who value evidence-based policy, personal liberty, and functional government.

Ellis describes the middle majority as the broad coalition of Kentuckians, Democrats and Republicans alike, who share more with each other than with the extremes of either party. “I believe most Republicans have far more in common with their Democrat neighbors than with the fringe voices claiming to speak for them,” Ellis said. “The same is true in reverse. What unites us—our values, our priorities, our desire for functional government—runs deeper than the noise that divides us.”

His campaign will focus on pragmatic reforms in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and public safety, with a commitment to transparency, local accountability, and coalition-building across party lines.

“The current Representative’s record of political posturing rather than collaborating to develop legislation that helps all Boone Countians is unacceptable. His recent exploitation of families who were victims of violent crime to further his political goals only further underscores how sorely he needs to be replaced. I’m running to bring clarity, accountability, and real solutions to Frankfort,” Ellis said. “Our district deserves leadership that listens, builds coalitions, and delivers. We need less theater and more results.”
