Florence Hosts 3rd Annual Juneteenth Festival: “Family Reunion – Embracing Our Roots, Empowering Our Future”

Florence, KY – For Family By Family, in proud partnership with the City of Florence, invites the community to the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 12 PM to 5 PM at Florence Nature Park (Event Center), 7200 Nature Park Dr, Florence, KY 41042.
This year’s theme, “Family Reunion: Embracing Our Roots, Empowering Our Future,” reflects the heart of the celebration: honoring the legacy of Juneteenth while cultivating deeper community bonds across generations and backgrounds.
What is Juneteenth?
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and informed the last remaining enslaved African Americans that they were free—more than two years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. Recognized as a federal holiday in 2021, Juneteenth serves as a powerful reminder of resilience, progress, and the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice.

Last year’s festival welcomed NKY communities and featured a vibrant mix of music, food, family fun, and community partnerships. This year, the celebration aims to deepen its impact, welcoming even more families, leaders, and local organizations to participate.
