SERVATii Launches Pretzels for a Purpose on National Pretzel Day
Portion of pretzel sales on Saturday, April 26 to support St. Vincent de Paul’s local hunger relief efforts
CINCINNATI, OHIO – SERVATii is celebrating National Pretzel Day with a delicious way to give back! For the first time, the bakery is introducing Pretzels for a Purpose. On National Pretzel Day, Saturday, April 26, guests can enjoy a soft pretzel for just $1 or a pretzel stick for 50 cents. Even better, 50% of all pretzel sales on National Pretzel Day will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul’s Catino Choice Food Pantry, helping fight hunger in the local community.
Giving back to the community is no new feat for SERVATii. In fact, the company has been donating bread and baked goods to food pantries for over 50 years. St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati (SVDP), in particular, has received donations for more than 13 years. In February alone, SERVATii donated 1,366 pounds of bread and baked goods directly to hundreds of local families through SVDP.
“Every day, we make it a priority to pay it forward,” said Greg Gottenbusch, Owner of SERVATii. “As we bake fresh daily, we donate leftover baked goods to local charities. Partnering with St. Vincent de Paul for National Pretzel Day felt like a natural next step in our commitment to supporting the community in a big way.”
“At St. Vincent de Paul, we rely on the community’s generosity and partnerships like this to meet the growing demand we have been experiencing in our food pantries,” said Brad McMonigle, Chief Executive Officer at St. Vincent de Paul. “We’re deeply grateful to SERVATii for choosing us as the beneficiary of this initiative. Together, with partners like SERVATii, we can help fill plates and bring hope to families in need.”
SVDP has seen a 53% increase in neighbors seeking food assistance year-over-year. In 2024 alone, the organization served 125,881 individuals through its network of food pantries, highlighting the critical need for community support. The funds raised from SERVATii’s Pretzels for a Purpose campaign will directly support SVDP’s mission to provide fresh food and connect families to vital resources.
