Brandon Faris, the creative force behind (www.allthebins.com) is not just editing documentaries and commercials in his Erlanger studio—he’s reshaping the way we discover music. With a sharp ear for hidden gems and a passion for music that dates back to his days at Columbia College Chicago, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Production, Faris has launched a bold project that every music lover needs to know about.
“All The Bins” is Faris’ love letter to music curation. He digs deep into the internet’s vast musical vault, creating bespoke playlists and spotlighting albums that deserve to be heard from start to finish—no skips, no interruptions. Whether it’s the infectious groove of “Cantaloupe Smile” or the raw energy of “Anti-Mumble Rap,” each playlist is a journey, crafted with care and designed to break listeners free from the shackles of mainstream algorithms. His playlists cross genres—folk, hip-hop, country, disco, funk, reggae, Latin, and rock ’n’ roll—offering something for everyone.
Earlier this month, Faris’ dedication was recognized when he received the prestigious Kentucky Arts Council Fellowship for his outstanding work in documentary film. But his love for music runs just as deep. A longtime resident of Erlanger, Faris has roots in his hometown’s music scene, having rocked local stages with his grunge trio, Corduroy Bloom, during his time at Lloyd High School’s Battle of the Bands. Now, each Friday, he pours that same passion into curating over 15 dynamic playlists, continuously uncovering new sounds to enrich the music experience.
Why is he doing it? “We’re being spoon-fed music by big tech algorithms that decide what we hear. It’s not much different from the old-school radio gatekeepers,” says Faris. “Even though we’ve got endless choices on platforms like Spotify, the algorithm keeps us in a bubble. I felt it was my calling to break free from that bubble and take control of the narrative.”
With “All The Bins,” Brandon Faris is doing just that—reclaiming music discovery, one playlist at a time. Stay tuned. The next track might just be your new favorite.
