Newport Central Catholic High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Trevor Steiner as the new Head Coach of its Girls Basketball Program.

Coach Steiner has spent the last two seasons with the NewCath Boys Basketball Program as a Varsity/JV assistant and Freshman Head Coach. Prior to coming to The Hill, Steiner spent one season at Clay City (IN) and four seasons at St. Thomas.

“We are excited for Coach Steiner to lead our girls’ program; he brings with him energy and organization. We are looking forward to seeing the development of the young women in our program.”

Coach Steiner said, “It is an absolute honor to be named the next Girls Basketball Coach at NewCath. I really respect the vision and goals that Principal Collopy, AD Schulkens, and administration have for this school and its future. I truly appreciate the trust they’ve shown in me with this awesome opportunity. Additionally, a huge ‘thank you’ goes to Coach Jake Luhn for his guidance and support over the last two years and to my wife, Mary Anne, for the way she supports me, our family, and this community. Coach Steiner and his wife, Mary Anne, have one daughter with another child on the way. They are active members of St. Thomas Parish in Fort Thomas and live in Dayton, KY.
