The city of Independence will hold a tree sapling give-away at Summit View Academy on Madison Pike on April 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The event will coincide with the Arbor Day season. Arbor Day occurs on April 28.
The trees available for pick-up will be Bald Cypress trees, Silky Dogwood scrubs, Willow Oaks and Black Rum Cherry trees. A picture and description of each tree is below. Scan the QR code at the bottom of each column to bring up a more in-depth description of each species.
