Power outages across the region have forced several schools to delay their first day back.
Severe storms that swept through Northern Kentucky Tuesday left thousands without power, disrupting the start of the school year for local schools. With outages and storm damage lingering Wednesday morning, schools across the region have postponed their first day of classes until Thursday, Aug. 13.
Here is a list of schools’ who have pushed their first day:
- Holy Cross High School in Covington-closed Aug. 12, first day of school is now Aug. 13
- Newport Independent School District-closed Aug. 12, first day of school is now Aug. 13
- St. Therese Parish & School in Southgate-closed Aug. 12, first day of school is now Aug. 13
