More than 100,000 people are without power Wednesday morning after a massive storm hit the Greater Cincinnati area Tuesday afternoon.
In Northern Kentucky, there are roughly 20,000 outages for residents, with 11,000 just east of Erlanger and 8,000 more just south of Alexandria, according to LINK nky’s media partner WCPO.
Be cautious as you are leaving the house this morning. Crews are working across the region to clear debris from the roadways so expect some delays.
“With additional rain on the way, flash flooding is possible in some areas,” KYTC District 6 wrote in a Facebook post. “Never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”
Here are some safety tips from the agency:
- Never touch or drive over a fallen power line
- Do not drive through standing water
- Stay inside the vehicle
- Assume all downed power lines are alive.
