The Covington Board of Commissioners approved a new round of small business incentives this week.

This will be the fourth round of approvals for this fiscal year. The program aims to help local small businesses get off their feet or improve their spaces. The incentive amount approved this week totals $28,000, which will be spread across a facade loan and three rent subsidies.

A $10,000 forgivable facade loan will go to local businessman Josh Landers to aid him in renovating an old bank building in Austinburg on East 20th Street. Landers told LINK nky he plans to open a vintage gun shop there once it’s completed.

The rent subsidies, on the other hand, each total $6,000. The first will go to a veteran-owned construction advisory firm on Pike Street called Strategic Partners. The second will to go an auction house on Russell Street called Lewis and Grant Auctions. Finally, the last subsidy will go to a new vintage shop on Madison Avenue called Rove.
