Jeff Bethell is stepping down as Fort Mitchell’s representative to the Kenton County Planning Commission, a commission that is part of the Planning and Development Services of Kenton County.
Current Mayor Jude Hehman initially appointed Bethell, who has served 10 years as a representative to Planning Commission. The city recognized his work at its Nov. 10 council meeting.
“Mr. Bethell is a man of incredible faith and dedication,” Hehman said. “When I asked him to fill this role, I didn’t realize what a big ask that was. He’s done a tremendous job.”
Over just the past few years with the Planning Commission, Bethell has worked on large-scale projects. He took part in meetings to establish bylaws and the Z21 project, which modernized Kenton County codes of ordinances.
“I am a third-generation ‘Fort Mitchellite,'” Bethell said. “I have a real connection to this city and always tried to do what I thought was right. Thank you; this has been one of the great honors of my life.”
Bethell’s term ends on Dec. 31, 2025. Fort Mitchell will appoint a new representative to the Planning Commission at their December council meeting.
