In honor of Veterans Day, the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky, also known as TANK, is providing free bus fare for veterans of the United States military.

On Nov. 11, U.S. veterans can receive free bus fare by showing proof of service to the TANK bus driver. Acceptable proof includes a Veteran’s Identification Card from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, a driver’s license or state ID indicating veteran status, or a DD Form 214 that verifies military service with a character of service listed as general, general under honorable or honorable discharge.

“We are proud to honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans,” TANK Marketing Manager Jenny Kammes said in a news release. “These men and women have given so much to our nation, and, to show our gratitude, we want to make getting around town a little easier for them on Veterans Day.”

Besides offering free bus fare on Veterans Day, TANK runs a year-round Veterans & Active-Duty Military Reduced Fare Program for qualifying riders. Through this program, veterans and active-duty service members pay only $1 per trip to ride fixed-route services and the Southbank Shuttle.

TANK is a public transit system that serves Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties, as well as downtown Cincinnati.
