The Newport Fire Department has added a new training facility on Wildcat Drive, acquired at no cost from Bellevue and Dayton.

The home-like structure provides a realistic training environment, allowing crews to sharpen their skills more often without reducing fire protection in the city.
Used jointly with the Fire Department of Bellevue – Dayton, the facility, according to the city, will result in better-trained firefighters and a safer community.
Newport will possibly consider murals on the building, landscaping and other ideas to eventually make the property more presentable.
