Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky has rebranded as Horizon Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky.

The Horizon Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization that allows donors to support their preferred nonprofit or charitable effort by offering the option of making endowed or non-endowed gifts. Horizon’s mission is to unite resources to improve the quality of life for all people in Northern Kentucky, according to its website.

Nancy Grayson, executive director of the Covington-based organization, said the name change reflects a new chapter for the organization. Additionally, the change coincides with the organization’s relocation to the OneNKY Center in downtown Covington, which is scheduled to open in September.

“This name more clearly reflects who we are and what we do,” Grayson said in a news release. “As a true community foundation, our purpose is to serve Northern Kentucky with strategic philanthropy, responsive grantmaking, and a deep connection to the people and needs of this region.”

The organization’s relocation positions it alongside other regional groups and civic organizations that focus on engagement and development. This includes the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, The Catalytic Fund, EducateNKY, Horizon Community Funds, LifeSciKY, meetNKY, Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, OneNKY Alliance, Thomas More University Division of External Affairs and BE NKY Growth Partnership.

Moreover, Horizon has expanded its staff and board of directors to help guide its strategy and ensure alignment with community priorities. Internally, recent hires include Ashleigh Luebbers as operations and communications coordinator and Dawn Denham as director of marketing and engagement.

New members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors include new Covington City Manager Sharmili Reddy, Bank Acquisition Consultant Jason Payne and DBL Law Partner Patrick Hughes.
