Newport Blast is back again!
This year, the event will be held on July 3 from 5 to 11 p.m. at Newport on the Levee. Attendees can expect a Wild West theme and a Rozzi Fireworks and Drone Display. The event is a partnership between meetNKY, Newport on the Levee, BB Riverboats, and the City of Newport.
“Returning for its second year with an exciting western theme, Newport Blast is quickly becoming a signature Independence Day Weekend celebration in Northern Kentucky,” meetNKY CEO Julie Kirkpatrick said in a news release. “We’re thrilled to welcome residents and visitors to experience the very best our region has to offer — from stunning riverfront views to exceptional dining and one-of-a-kind shopping. Newport once again sets the stage for a weekend of unforgettable memories, and we’re excited to continue building this into an anticipated annual tradition for our community.”
The free event will include line dancing lessons led by Shiners and The Ritz Ballroom Dance Studio, live music by the Danny Frazier Band, a riverboat parade, mechanical bull rides, and photo opportunities with a Wild West theme.
Food and drinks will be available from restaurants and bars located on the Levee, including Par 3, Brothers Bar and Grill, Tom & Chee, Beeline, and Bridgeview Box Park. To-go drinks will be permitted throughout the property as part of the Levee’s entertainment district designation.
BB Riverboats will operate three ticketed cruises during the day, with boarding times beginning at noon. Tickets include a buffet dinner and reserved seating for the fireworks show. Cruises will feature live music and must be reserved in advance.
The Levee event ends at 10 p.m., and BB Riverboats operations conclude at 11 p.m. The fireworks show soundtrack will be broadcast on The Project 100.7.
