The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky, commonly referred to as TANK, is launching a new monthly class to help riders navigate public transportation across Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties.
Titled “Ready to Ride,” the free, hour-long class is open to new, current, and returning riders. The inaugural session will be held at 11 a.m. on June 2 at TANK’s main office, located at 3375 Madison Pike in Fort Wright. The class will then continue on the first Monday of each month, also from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Participants will learn everything from pre-boarding tips and reading route maps to paying fares and signaling for stops. Attendees will also gain hands-on experience aboard a TANK bus, allowing them to apply their new knowledge in practice before taking their first trip.
“We are excited to offer the Ready to Ride class as part of our commitment to making public transit more accessible and user-friendly for everyone,” TANK’s Marketing Manager Jenny Kammes said in a press release. “By providing the tools and knowledge to navigate our system, we hope to empower riders and help them feel confident and comfortable using public transit.”
In addition, each person who completes the class will receive a complimentary TANK day pass.
