Covington residents can now sign up for this Saturday’s Great American Cleanup, the city’s largest annual volunteer event.
“We’re grateful to see the community come together in support of keeping Covington beautiful,” said Jameela Saalah, director of program impact with the Center for Great Neighborhoods, in a press release. “The Great American Cleanup is one of our largest events each year, both in terms of volunteer turnout and cleanup sites. I’m continually amazed by what we’re able to accomplish together through this event.”
The event is put on through a partnership with Keep Covington Beautiful, itself a program under The Center for Great Neighborhoods, and Covington’s Solid Waste & Recycling and Urban Forestry divisions. Volunteers will clean up across 15 locations in the city:
- Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky
- Hellmann Creative Center
- Botany Hills neighborhood
- Austinburg neighborhood
- Benton Road
- Westside neighborhood
- Old Seminary Square neighborhood
- Levassor Park
- Mutter Gottes neighborhood
- Peaselburg neighborhood
- Randolph Park Pollinator Garden
- Wheeler Street
- Garrard and Scott Street
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 26. You can sign up to volunteer and learn more about the event at keepcovingtonbeautiful.com/great-american-clean-up. The event is no longer accepting new cleanup site applications.
