Campbell County Schools has been awarded a comprehensive literacy grant totaling more than $1.5 million to support students’ reading development and success.
This funding will allow the district to secure high-quality instructional resources, provide literacy materials to PK-12 students and families, and give educators tools and training to strengthen literacy skills in Campbell County.
Campbell County Schools Superintendent Shelli Wilson praised the dedication of district staff in a news release for identifying the opportunity and securing the funds.
“Our staff, seeing the need, went above and beyond to apply for this competitive grant,” said Wilson in the news release. “Campbell County Schools has applied for and received over $17 million in additional funding through competitive grants since 2017. It is work, but it saves the taxpayers and enables us to meet student needs best.”
The district said in the release that the newly awarded literacy grant reflects Campbell County Schools‘ ongoing commitment to student-centered learning and innovative pathways for success, and it will directly impact student achievement and readiness.
