The Cincinnati Police Department has arrested a former Holmes High School social studies teacher who was accused of having inappropriate communications with a student.

Mason Goins, 24, was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a minor under 18, prohibited use of an electronic device to procure a minor in a sex offense, third-degree sodomy, attempted third-degree sodomy, attempted first-degree sexual abuse, and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 18.

On March 13, LINK nky confirmed that Covington Police were actively investigating Goins, who resigned from his teaching post at Holmes High School earlier this week.

Although Goins taught in Covington, he was located and arrested in Cincinnati. An arrest warrant was obtained by detectives from the Covington Police Department’s Domestic Assault Response Team.
