Emboss, a Newport-based architecture firm, announced this week it would match up to $10,000 in donations as part of Giving Tuesday to the Ion Center for Violence Prevention, a statewide service agency with a branch in Covington that serves domestic violence survivors.
Giving Tuesday takes place on Dec. 3. and sees massive giving campaigns for charitable agencies and nonprofit organizations throughout the country. Emboss plans to match up to $10,000 donated to the Ion Center on Giving Tuesday. Emboss has aided the Ion Center in rebuilding the third floor of its facility on Madison Avenue in the past.
Emma Adkisson, Emboss CEO, said in a press release that “elevating everyone around me and spreading joy are two of my personal missions in life. Ion Center is doing some really potent and important work for our community: supporting, healing, and elevating people in some of the hardest times in their lives. The Ion Center must exist. For many victims of power-based personal violence this is their only outlet to safety. They provide victim-survivors so many services. So much compassion, care, and dignity. I am really excited to donate this year with the goal of having a grassroots movement of more people honoring and supporting the Ion Center’s work in the world.”
“Emma and her team helped breathe new life into our building and how we’re able to provide services to our clients,” said Ion Center CEO Christy Burch in the same release. “Emboss has continued to support Ion Center in so many ways, and we are thrilled they’ve chosen to donate in this way. We’re grateful to Emma and the whole Emboss team for what they continue to do to support Ion Center and all the survivors we serve.”
