Newport’s top vote getter named vice mayor

While Newport did not see a contested race this election cycle, the city’s top vote getter is named Vice Mayor.

That title goes to Newport Commissioner Julie Smith-Morrow for receiving the most votes on Nov. 5.

Here is a breakdown of how Newport voted for each candidate:
