At the beginning of 2025, the Newport Business Association will rebrand as the Newport Business Council and become part of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

The Newport Business Council is following similar moves by the Fort Thomas and Florence Business Councils, which were formed in September 2023.

Mark Ramler, co-founder of Mansion Hill Properties and president of the former Newport Business Association, will serve as the first chair of the newly formed Newport Business Council, according to an NKY Chamber press release.

“Attracting new businesses, filling vacant storefronts and creating a unified front is key to moving Newport – and the Northern Kentucky region – forward,” Ramler said. “We are excited to collaborate closely with the NKY Chamber and leverage shared resources and opportunities to uplift and strengthen the Newport business community while working with the city toward policy changes and incentives that will positively impact the community as a whole.”

Newport Business Council membership is open to businesses, industry associations, government officials, educational institutions, and community organizations operating within city limits.

Participants will meet every month to discuss key issues, initiatives, and community progress. The meeting locations will rotate. The first meeting of the Newport Business Council will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at The Prestant — 720 York St. in Newport. The topic will be “What’s New in Newport.”
