Amazon workers, organizing with the Teamsters are demanding that the e-commerce giant increase the wages of workers at the KCVG campus in Boone County.

Rallying workers held signs reading “WE ARE THE TEAMSTERS” and called on the company to raise wages for warehouse workers and drivers nationwide.

Amazon’s North American Superhub is located at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and is a significant player in Northern Kentucky’s logistics and shipping sector. Teamsters Local 89 out of Louisville have supported Amazon Teamsters at KCVG at multiple pickets and rallies throughout the past year.

“KCVG is Amazon’s largest air hub, yet despite the essential work of Amazon workers like me keeping this hub up and running, the company treats us as disposable. We’re fighting for a pay increase that aligns with the work we do for Amazon, and that’s $3 per hour and nothing less,” KCVG Process Assistant Zach Neely said in a press release.

On Sept. 20, Amazon announced raises of $1.50 per hour for frontline workers, including air hub workers at KCVG, according to a Teamsters press release.

Last month, Amazon Teamsters at KCVG held a press conference outside the John Weld Peck Federal Building in downtown Cincinnati to protest alleged union-busting practices at the superhub.
