Work on the final phases of the repaving in Kenton County’s golf courses is slated to begin on Sept. 1, according to a recent announcement from the county. The work will likely extend to the end of November.

Once finished the work will serve as the capstone of a project that began in fiscal year 2019. The repaving will take place on the cart paths for holes 4, 5 and 6 at the Pioneer Golf Course and the path for holes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 at the Willows Golf Course. The project’s price tag is $402,000, according to the county.

The courses are managed by Indigo Sports, although the courses themselves belong to the county.

“Since taking over the operations of our golf courses, Indigo Sports has been a great partner and helped us accomplish our mission of taking the operational burden of these facilities off our residents,” Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann said. “Improving the functionality of our golf courses allows Indigo to further position these courses as valuable public assets that serve our residents well and add to our local tourism industry.”
