The no-excuse early voting counts are in and show that more Kentuckians took advantage of it this primary than in 2023.
Any registered voter could place their vote ahead of Election Day during no-excuse early voting May 16 through 18. Excused early voting happens at the county clerk’s office, where voters have to provide an explanation as to why they cannot vote on Election Day or during the in-person no-excuse early voting.
According to Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams, 75,204 Kentuckians voted via no-excuse early voting in the primary, compared to 72,754 in May 2023.
“Like last year, most early voters were Republicans, but there’s nothing political about choosing the voting method most convenient for you,” Adams said in a Tweet.
The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21. If you are in line at 6 p.m., you will be allowed to vote. More information on today’s primaries can be found here.
