The Flying Pig Marathon takes place this weekend. Although most of the race occurs in Ohio, portions will pass through Covington and Newport.

Several roads will be closed or blocked off to make room for the event. View a map of the race and a schedule of road closures in Northern Kentucky below.

Note: Times are approximate and may change depending on the race proceedings.

Friday, May 3:

  • The Roebling Suspension Bridge from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Saturday, May 4:

  • The Roebling Suspension Bridge from 7:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • The 4th Street Bridge from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • The Clay Wade Bailey Bridge from 6:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
  • 4th Street between the 4th Street Bridge and Clay Wade Bailey Bridge in Covington from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • 4th and 5th Streets in Newport from 6:40 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Saratoga Street in Newport from 6:40 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • 3rd Street in Newport from 6:40 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Taylor Southgate Bridge from Newport to Cincinnati from 6:40 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Sunday, May 5:

  • The Roebling Suspension Bridge from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The 4th Street Bridge from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
  • 4th Street between the 4th Street Bridge and Clay Wade Bailey Bridge in Covington from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
  • The Clay Wade Bailey Bridge from 6 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
  • Taylor Southgate Bridge from Cincinnati to Newport from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • 3rd Street in Newport from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • Monmouth Street in Newport from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • 4th and 5th Streets in Newport from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The following roads in Newport will not allow parking at the following dates and times:

  • 5th Street east of Monmouth Street to Saratoga Street on Saturday, May 4, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • 5th Street west of Monmouth Street to the roundabout from Saturday, May 4 at 5 a.m. to Sunday, May 5 at 10 a.m.
  • Monmouth Street between 3rd and 5th Streets from Saturday, May 4 at 11 p.m. to Sunday, May 5 at 10 a.m.
  • West side of Saratoga Street between 3rd and 5th streets on Saturday, May 4, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.
