James Gilpin was sworn in as the Assistant Police Chief of the Kenton County Police Department at the Kenton County Fiscal Court meeting Tuesday.
Gilpin initially retired from the Kenton County Police Department as a police captain in 2019 after being with the department since 2005.
“We’re excited; I know you didn’t expect to come back,” Kenton County Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann said. “You had a window of time you were gone, and we’re very blessed that you decided to apply to come back. I know the chief is thrilled with that, and you make us stronger every day. It was a loss to see you retire, but it’s exciting to see you here.”
“I’m very blessed, very grateful,” Gilpin said. “I appreciate this opportunity.”
