The Elranger City Council voted in an unofficial poll at their meeting this week to support local investment into road improvements and repairs on Stevenson Road following statements from Mayor Jessica Fette.

Stevenson Road has had issues in the past with stormwater flooding and turning lane safety, among other safety concerns.

Earlier in the week, Fette had met with representatives from Sanitation District 1, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Sen. Chris McDaniel (R-Ryland Heights) and Rep. Steve Doan (R-Erlanger) to discuss the possibility of getting state resources to finance the repairs. She said that additional investment from the city would increase the likelihood of state help.

In a phone call with LINK nky, Fette floated a preliminary commitment of $1 million from the city, but the poll at the council meeting was not a formal action. Rather, it was a way to demonstrate that the city government was willing to contribute to the road investment.

If the city decides to formally allocate funds for the project, it will do so in the next budget cycle for fiscal year 2025.
