Enzweiler Building Institute’s Covington branch on Winston Avenue will host a free informational session about its heritage trades program this Thursday, Dec. 21, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Heritage trades refer to trade crafts necessary for restoring and preserving historic buildings, a practice that plays a prominent role in Covington’s culture.
“The upcoming class is going to be a lot of hands-on experience, which should be a lot of fun,” said Diane McConnell, Director of Workforce Development with the Enzweiler Building Institute, which administers the programs through apprentice-style training.
Attendees will learn about the upcoming term’s class schedules as well as information about lab work and tools commonly used in heritage trades.
Class instruction and curricula are all planned and administered through the Covington Academy of Heritage Trades. Learn more at their website.
