The Kenton County Government Center will serve as the temporary home for a mural created by Chroma Projects that represents “the metaphorical ‘Road to Recovery,'” according to a recent announcement from the county.

Transitions Drug Rehabilitation & Immediate Care commissioned the three-panel mural in commemoration of International Overdose Awareness Day, which falls on Aug. 31.

“Kenton County has been proactive in finding ways to address the addiction problem, helping us reduce the stigma and shame associated with addiction,” Transitions CEO Jim Beiting said in the announcement.

The mural was completed during this year’s Walk the Road to Recovery event on the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge. The mural will remain in the lobby of the county center for the next few weeks, the announcement said. No exact dates for the mural’s departure were given.
