A coffee shop in Covington’s Roebling Point District announced its impending closure after the recent sale of its building.

Fans of Haven should fear not, though, as the business is slated to relocate, according to an Instagram post on the shop’s official page. As of now, there has not been an announcement or confirmation of Haven’s next location.

Oct. 29 is Haven’s last day in their shop located at 322 Scott Blvd. Currently, there is a GoFundMe page raising money for Haven’s relocation. So far, $3,135 has been raised out of the page’s $10,000 goal.

Established in 2020, Haven Coffee was founded by Sabyle Zeringis. She aimed to create a safe ‘haven’ for health-conscious individuals in Northern Kentucky. The menu includes coffee drinks that use organic syrups and other natural products.

“I feel immense gratitude for all of the people that live and work in Covington that have supported us throughout this time,” Zeringis said. “I mean, we started August of ’20 so it was really the hardest time to start something new.”

In addition to her coffee shop, Zeringis also owned and operated a wellness spa directly next door. That, too, is closing.

“Our spa concept has faced repeated issues with the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology, as it has proven to be virtually impossible to gain licensure and grow our staff to accommodate the demand,” Haven leadership detailed in their GoFundMe’s description.

According to Zeringis, Haven’s closure in their current location is due to their lease not being renewed by their incoming ownership. Their lease expired at the end of August.

Haven Coffee and its next-door spa operated in two separate spaces inside the building at the corner of Scott Blvd. and Park Place. Both spaces were sold to Casa Forte LLC on Sept. 29 for a combined $237,000, according to Kenton County property records.

Zeringis said she was given a 30-day notice to vacate after failing to reach an agreement with the new ownership on a lease extension.

Despite the road bump, Zeringis told LINK nky that her business had outgrown their current space in Covington. The storefront Haven Coffee was operating out of was 695 square feet. Their spa storefront operated out of a slightly bigger space at 795 square feet.

“We are currently working on a bigger and better location that we would be able to open our spa concept into its full capacity, and also design the space to reflect the growth that we’ve had,” Zeringis said.
