Union mayor receives Kentucky Colonel commission

Union Mayor Larry Solomon has been commissioned a Kentucky Colonel.

The commission serves as the highest title of honor bestowed by Kentucky’s governor and is in recognition of outstanding community, state and national service, according to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels website.

The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels is a voluntary philanthropic organization, officials said.

Solomon has served as Union’s mayor since January 2015.
