An 18-year-old man was killed in a shooting Friday night in Newport, according to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.
The Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Terrance Johnson.
A group of people met in the 500 block of Patterson Street for a prearranged fight around 8:30 p.m. Friday, Newport Police said in a press release.
“At some point, shots were fired by an unknown suspect striking the victim,” the release said.
Once on scene, officers said they located Johnson, and he was taken University Hospital in Cincinnati, where he later died.
“The investigation remains active, and no suspects have been formally charged,” Newport Police said in the release.
