New Riff Distilling is welcoming guests into its newly renovated first-floor area with a grand re-opening later this month.
The first part of a $3 million renovation to the distillery’s public areas, the gift shop, and the new welcome site are part of the distillery’s ongoing commitment to engage with visitors, said Vice President of Operations Hannah Lowen.
Since opening in 2014, New Riff hasn’t made any significant changes to the distillery’s public spaces — and with the distilleries placement on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour and increased interest in The B-Line, Lowen said the changes will allow it to meet guests’ needs better.
In the fall, the gift shop, called the Riff Shop, is debuting a customization shop with various options, from custom copper labels to gift boxes and personal messages to create bourbon gifts.
The grand opening of the new gift shop and the welcome area is July 29. Regular hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The renovation is made possible in part by moving The Aquifer cocktail bar to the third floor—the second phase of the project, currently underway and anticipated to be complete by the end of 2023. While the tasting room is under construction, New Riff celebrates summer with a pop-up — the Riff Raff Bar.
New tours, tastings, and experiences can be booked here.
