Gov. Andy Beshear is set to sign a proclamation today, declaring Monday, June 19, 2023, as Juneteenth National Freedom Day in Kentucky.
Beshear will sign the proclamation at 1 p.m. at the Kentucky State Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort.
He will be joined by Sen. Gerald Neal, J. Michael Brown, director of pre-law and constitutional studies, Simmons College of Kentucky, and former secretary of the Governor’s Executive Cabinet, and Charles Booker, executive director, Governor’s Office of Faith-Based & Community Initiatives.
