Newport Central Catholic High School announced today that Charles Marks has resigned from his four-year post as director of advancement.

Marks took over in that role in 2019. He is leaving Newport Central Catholic to work as the Major Gift Officer with Dynamic Catholic Institute.

Along with Newport Central Catholic Principal Kenny Collopy, Marks has worked on the school’s “Looking Up” capital campaign that has raised $10.6 million of its $13 million goal to date. He has also worked on forging the school’s partnership with Dynamic Catholic Institute.

“I am incredibly grateful for the past four years on ‘The Hill,’” Marks said. “The NCC community is made up of so many kind, generous and selfless people who I am blessed to now call my friends. I will always cherish the relationships that I have formed during my time here and know that I will always have them. I am so proud of what we have accomplished over the past few years, especially with the ‘Looking Up’ capital campaign. Thank you to the NCC family for your support and your friendship. I am looking forward to being back on ‘The Hill’ in a few years when my kiddos are Breds AMDG.”

The school’s advancement staff will handle day-to-day operations, and Collopy will assume campaign responsibilities during the transition.

The school is now accepting applications for candidates to fill the Director of Advancement position. Those interested should email Collopy at [email protected] with a letter of interest and a resume.
