The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, also known as KYTC, District 6, is advising motorists of ramp closures on Interstate 471 in Campbell County to accommodate pothole patching.

Ramp closures will take place individually as crews work one on-ramp at a time. Each on-ramp closure is estimated to last around one hour.

Crews will begin with the I-471 northbound on-ramps at 11 p.m. on May 2. Crews will be pothole patching on each on-ramp in the following order: Southgate (Alexandria Pike), Fort Thomas (Grand Avenue), Memorial Parkway, and then Bellevue/Newport.

On Wednesday, May 3, crews will close I-471 southbound on-ramps at 11 p.m. They will perform pothole patching in this order: Memorial Parkway, Fort Thomas (Grand Avenue), Southgate (Alexandria Pike).

On Thursday, May 4, KYTC crews will perform a rolling roadblock from 11 p.m. through 5 a.m. During this time, crews will fill potholes on I-471 from I-275 to the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge. Project leaders anticipate the rolling roadblocks to last for one hour at a time. Crews will start the rolling roadblock on I-471 northbound and then will progress to I-471 southbound.

Another rolling roadblock will take place on Friday, May 5, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. as crews switch over to pothole patching on the I-471 southbound and northbound off-ramps: Southgate (Alexandria Pike), Fort Thomas (Grand Avenue), Memorial Parkway, and Bellevue/Newport.

According to KYTC, motorists should expect traffic delays and exercise caution when traveling near the work zone.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can get Northern Kentucky road construction updates on District 6 Road Report.
